Cape Cod Stone Steps and Bluestone Stepper Walkway

Pictured is a bluestone stepper walkway with Stanstead granite steps and miniature natural stone retaining walls that replaced the existing timber retaining walls in Wellfleet, MA on Cape Cod. There are some natural stepping stones mixed in with the irregular bluestone. This week we will be planting groundcover: bear berry, a native low growing perennial with red berries and bird's foot violets, another wildflower that loves partial shade. Neither needs water after establishing. Violets are short-lived but self seed. Both are great for the local pollinators.
